It was Mohammad Nabi from Afghanistan who caught everyone’s eye today. The all rounder came to bat at a tough situation for the team but his aggressive batting shattered the bowling of Prime Doleshwar. The batsman struck a magnificent 140 run innings from just 90 balls to get Mohammedan’s score to 306 in their quota of 50 overs. Ashraful Hoque picked up 3 wickets for 47 runs.

There was a 112 run partnership for the 2nd wicket by Tillakaratne Sampath and Mehedi Maruf before Murad saw the end of Mehedi. The batsmen put up decent partnerships and fought hard as they got quite close to the target and ended up with a score of 273.  Murad and Dilshan grabbed 3 wickets each. Mashrafe got 2 as well.

In the match between Sk Jamal and Kolabagan, Junaid Siddique made a handsome 95 in his comeback match after the injury. Batting first, Mushfiqur’s team scored 262 runs for the loss of all their wickets. The openers put up a 50 run stand before Jahurul got out. Junaid and skipper Mushfiqur carried on the momentum and the opener hit 3 massive sixes. The duo, together scored 91 as partners before Mushfiqur departed.  On 95, Jehan Mubarak took the catch of Junaid to deny him a well deserved century. Mushfiqur scored 43 while Mubarak picked up 5 wickets for 33 runs.

The top order got starts for Kolabagan but none of them capitalised on it. The batsmen built up decent partnerships between themselves but threw them away just when things were looking good for their team. Forhad Hossain scored 41, Naeem Islam scored a 50 and got out and Chamara Kapugedara also scored 46. In the end, Kolabagan fell short by 16 runs. Mubarak was the man of the match for his 5 wicket haul.

Cricket Coaching School (CCS) won the toss and elected to field first against Abahoni Ltd. Although the captain Shariar Nafees failed to perform, Nazim Uddin looked to be in good nick. The opener hit 4 boundaries and got to 41 but as like others, he thew it away as well. The middle order got decent runs, including 32 by Parnavitana, 52 by Indika and 39 by Mosaddek. As a result of a team effort, Abahoni put up a total of 247 on the scoreboard. The chase by CCS was a disastrous one. the batsmen had no answer to some aggressive bowling by Al-Amin. The pacer picked up 6 wickets for 16 runs and won the man of the match award. The only, other wicket taker was Nabil Samad who grabbed 4 wickets for 4 runs. Abahoni won by a margin of 212 runs.
