The performance of the tigers on the field have reflected on the rankings as well. At the start of the series, the ratings of Bangladesh was 10 points which increased to 18 at the end of the Sahara Cup Test series. This has however had no impact on the change of rankings as Bangladesh are still ranked number 10 in ICC Test team rankings but the difference between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh’s ratings have been reduced.

The Kiwis were disappointed having drawn the series against a low ranked team, and they’ve lost 4 ratings but still stand on the 8th position with 74 ratings at present.

Talking about the individual player rankings, Shakib Al Hasan has widened the gape between himself and South African all rounder Jackques Kallis. Shakib now has 362 ratings, 30 ratings above Kallis. Shakib Al Hasan is ranked 30th in the ICC Test batsman’s ranking, followed by opener Tamim Iqbal. At 38 is Mushfiqur Rahim.

Young Mominul Haque has had the most significant improvement in the rankings after such terrific performance against the Kiwis. After the Test series, the little dynamite has jumped 44 steps upwards to position himself at number 32 in the rankings.
