Mohammad Rafique- The root of Bangladeshi Spinners

Mohammad Rafique was born in the year 1970, on 5th September. He was born even before the Independence of Bangladesh, in a relatively poor family background. Rafique was very interested in cricket and had the passion for it when he was a child.

..He made his way into International Cricket on 5th April, 1995 against India. Mohammad Rafique was a part of the team in the historic debut test match of Bangladesh Cricket Team on 10th November, 2000. He soon became a popular member of the team and showed promises with the bat as well.

Afterwards...
His career was almost derailed soon afterwards, when he was reported to the ICC for a suspect action. He was tardy in taking remedial action, and was out of the national team until 2002, when he was picked for the home series against South Africa. His return to cricket was classy and promising, with a six-wicket haul in the second Test against South Africa. He has not looked back since. He was the highest wicket-taker for Bangladesh in the home Test series against India, and the second highest during the away tour to Zimbabwe.

Mohammad Rafique is known as one of the best spinners ever produced in Bangladesh. People all over the world have praised him for his excellent ability to bowl in a certain area on consistent basis. He played his last test match against South Africa and in that match, he became the first ever Bangladeshi Cricketer to get 100 test match wickets.

Reasons why Mushfiqur Rahim is the ideal captain

What are the qualities to be a good leader? Just commanding skills? Or is it just winning? No, a good leader is one who sets examples for the team and unites the team as if the team is not just a team, it's a family. Obviously good communication and commanding skills are important, but to be a good leader, one should be punctual himself.

Let's talk about Mushfiqur Rahim. Indeed he is one of the smallest in terms of height but is surely one of the tallest in terms of ability of sharing responsibility. Mushfiqur has always been a hardworking cricketer. It is known that even when he was not the captain, Mushfiqur would be the first one to arrive during practice sessions and warm up before anyone else. Such is the enthusiasm the little man processes. He spends hours and hours in the nets before he can get a shot correctly which has helped him develop his batting skills and make his techniques sound over the years.

The little man proved his worth time and time again as he got the team out of danger on a number of occasions and took on the burden successfully. Looking at all the aspects, the BCB had decided to make Mushfiqur the captain of the side. The results were seen in the very next match. Mushfiqur smashed the ball out of the park to seal a historic T20 victory over West Indies at home. That was the start of Mushfiqur's career as captain.

So far, Bangladesh have beaten tops sides under the captaincy of Mushfiqur Rahim which includes the likes of India, Sri Lanka, West Indies and South Africa in T20 format. The young man can go a long way with the determination he has. Certainly, the correct leader for the moment is Mushfiqur Rahim for Bangladesh it has to be said.

Ashraful involved in match fixing?

At a situation when world cricket is going through some vulnerable periods, the next suspect of match fixing is Bangladesh's batting master, Mohammad Ashraful. The star batsman has been going through tough times on the field for the past few years already, and for the last few days he has been under ICC's investigation.

The Anti-corruption unit of ICC has arrived in Bangladesh to investigate two matches of the second edition of Bangladesh Premier League which includes the match between Dhaka Gladiators and Chittagong Kings, followed by Dhaka Gladiators and Barisal Burners. The Gladiators were said to be the strongest team in the tournament on cards, but it raised some eye brows when they fell apart against Chittagong Kings. Keeping Mashrafe Mortaza on the sideline for the match increased the suspicion. On the other hand, Ashraful was involved in a few run outs which helped the collapse of Dhaka's batting relatively strong batting line up.

Ashraful has been questioned by ICC and he has been told to keep matters a secret. Thus, no further information regarding the matter has been received but BCB has joined hands with ICC to provide them 100 percent support regarding this matter. It has also been confirmed that superstars Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Shakib Al Hasan are out of this issue and there is no suspicion against them. When the career of Mohammad Ashraful is going through ups and downs, if proved guilty, things may go drastically wrong for Ashraful.

Mushfiqur Rahim Resignation going to be Probed

The Bangladesh Cricket Board(BCB) isn’t letting Mushfiqur Rahim's ‘resignation’ incident go without investigation. Bangladesh Cricket Board is going to investigate it with an investigation team, mentioned by the BCB Chairman.

“We have talked about the captaincy. What he has said to me was he did that from emotion. He couldn’t accept the consistent defeats with Zimbabwe, so he left the captaincy. Still I’ve said to him that we will formulate a committee in the next board meeting and find out whether there were any mismanagement or not,”said by the BCB chairman.
